Choice Academy & NKOA

Mission and Philosophy

The mission of Choice Academy and NKOA/PAL is centered on the Circle of Courage and the North Kitsap School District Plan.  Staff at Choice Academy and NKOA/PAL strive to provide students with an environment where they experience a sense of belonging met through relationships of trust and respect. A student will be exposed to opportunities for success leading to achievement.  Students will learn and grow to be in control of themselves and develop a sense of self-empowerment.  Ultimately, students will feel and believe they have something of value to offer their families and community. 

Through a personalized approach, a plan is developed to meet student needs in their academic and social-emotional development by focusing on knowing each student by name, strength, and need. A comprehensive review of students’ desires and needs leads to developing a plan for success leading to graduation and becoming productive citizens in their community.
