K-8 PAL

 
 
The Parent Assisted Learning Program (PAL) is a parent partnered program providing an alternative learning experience for grades K-12. PAL provides support for parents providing instruction for their children at home.
 
Our focus is to provide a families with support for home-based education that fosters the development of self-directed, life-long learners through partnerships in education between parents and teacher mentors.
 
We provide qualified teachers, district-based curriculum and materials, block classes, and customized Alternative Learning Experience (ALE) Plans designed to meet the Washington Common Core State Standards and the needs and interests of students.
 
PAL Program Offerings:
    Weekly Block Class and face-to-face meetings and monthly advisor meetings to review the ALE Plan.
    Weekly one-on-one meetings with a teacher/advisor to review the ALE Plan.
    Students in grades 6-8 may participate in a combination of middle school classes and PAL classes. Example) A student can attend a Band and Science class at Poulsbo Middle School and take a variety of core subjects through the PAL Program.
